Understanding fibre network stages

There are several stages in the process of bringing fibre to a community.

Each stage plays a part in making sure the network is safe, reliable and ready for use.

Design

We plan the network layout, work with councils and utilities, and design the path the fibre will take.

Construction

Our team install pits, ducts and fibre cables in the street. You may see civil works during this stage.

Testing

We test each section of the network to make sure the fibre is performing as it should.

Ready for service

Once an area passes testing, it becomes ready for service. At this point, homes and businesses can order a connection through a retail service partner (such as Splice Internet).

If you want to know the status of your area, you can check the rollout updates on our website front page, or use the address checker on the Splice Internet site.
