Do you use CGNAT?

Rural Fibre Co does not assign IP addresses to customers. We operate the fibre network, but the retail service provider you choose is responsible for the technical settings of your internet service. This includes whether your connection uses CGNAT.

CGNAT is a common way for retail providers to manage IPv4 addresses. It allows several customers to share a pool of addresses while still having a stable connection. Many providers use CGNAT as part of their standard setup, while others offer a public IP address or static IP option.

If you want to know whether your service will use CGNAT, or if you need a public or static IP address for gaming, port forwarding or remote access, your retail provider will be able to tell you what options they offer.

Rural Fibre Co ensures the fibre network is fast and reliable. Your retail provider manages how your service is configured on that network.
